Human Freezing to Enter Hibernation Condition

If you're a fan of science fiction, you've seen scenes where people were frozen during a "space trip" trip or saw an ancient human movie that came back to life after "freezing" for thousands of years. Indeed both stories are still classified as "science fiction" because it has not happened in the real world.

But this may soon be "non-fiction" because there are some American surgeons at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will experiment on humans to enter "life delays" or some sort of "freeze of life" where later on The time the person desires can be recovered from the frozen / hibernation state.

Why is this done? The rationale for this experiment and experiment is to help those with severe injuries or incurable diseases to have more time until the discovery of a cure or treatment that can heal in the future so as to have greater likelihood of life.

This life-delaying technique will be piloted on 10 seriously injured patients by cooling the body but not by outer temperatures, but by taking all the patient's blood, then replacing it with a cold salt solution. This will cool the body and slow down its function until it stops and reduces the need for oxygen.

Actually there is the incident of delaying / freezing this life on accidental incident on some people, such as the Swedish woman named Anna BĂ„genholm who can survive under ice layer in frozen water for 80 minutes in skiing accident, then there are Japanese people survive 24 days without Eating or drinking by undergoing a hypothermic hibernation state.

The doctors involved called what they did with the term "emergency preservation and resuscitation" in which the technique was developed by Doctor Peter Rhee who successfully tested pigs in 2000. And in 2006 Dr. Rhee and his team published the results of their research.

They succeeded in freezing life on pigs with the techniques described above where most of the pigs were successfully revived from the "frozen / hibernate" condition.

But in humans, for now it is likely that this will work for a few hours, but if it works, it is a great achievement and progress that can help human life.
